About Us: We are a warm, thoughtful family that follows a gentle parenting approach rooted in emotional connection and respectful communication. Our home is structured with clear routines, but we always leave room for imagination and "playful magic." Since our oldest is transitioning out of daycare (due to too many illnesses/unplanned time off), socialization and outdoor time are high priorities for us. We value an open, honest partnership and truly want our nanny to feel like part of the family. We also have two black lab mixes who are part of the family!
Who We’re Looking For: We are seeking an experienced, professional nanny who can take true ownership of their role. You should be a self-starter who is comfortable making independent decisions while remaining flexible. Because we both have demanding jobs, reliability and clear communication are essential. The ideal candidate is nurturing and playful but can maintain the "calm yet engaging" environment our kiddos thrive in.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Day: Confidently manage daily routines, meal prep, and grocery lists for the child.
Developmental Play: Plan screen-free, play-based activities and outings to parks, libraries, and social meetups.
Gentle Parenting: Support emotional development using empathy, redirection, and positive reinforcement.
Household Upkeep: Supportive laundry (clearly labeled), light cleaning, vacuuming, and a "kitchen reset" to keep the home running smoothly.
Pet Care: Daily care for the family dogs (letting them in/out roughly twice a day) and the caring for them when we are on vacation (roughly 4 weeks/year).
Requirements:
Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional childcare experience.
Toddler Expertise: Specific experience navigating the toddler developmental stage, preference with watching multiple toddlers at a time.
Travel/House-Sitting: Willingness to care for dogs during family travel, either stop by to let them out about 4 times a day or stay at the house (~3–4 weeks/year).
PTO Policy: Ability to provide 60 days’ notice for PTO whenever possible to accommodate work travel, one parent is a physician and both have high demanding jobs, they have PTO they can take but need as much notice as possible.
Safety: CPR and First Aid Certification (proof required).
Health & Wellness: Non-smoker and fully vaccinated (not a requirement of Nurturing Nannies but a family request).
Privacy: Strict "no posting children on social media" policy.
Transportation: Valid driver’s license, clean record, and reliable vehicle (car seats provided).
Commitment: Ability to provide 3–5 professional references and a desire for a long-term fit (one year minimum with option to extend).
Note: This family is not open to a nanny bringing their own child.
